What is Community Acupuncture?

Acupuncture for the working class – that’s all of us! Treatments occur in a group treatment room, like in Asia, reclining in comfortable chairs, using distal points – those located on arms, legs and occasionally head.

Who are We?

Paul Marks, Licensed Acupuncturist, Board-Certified. Graduate of New England College of Acupuncture in 1985, trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine. How much does it cost? We offer treatment on a sliding scale, charging between $15 - $35 per session – you decide how much you can afford, no questions asked!

Does acupuncture really work?

Yes! It’s been used for thousands of years and Western research is finally able to verify it’s validity and efficacy. Insurance companies cover this modality of treatment. Sterile, stainless steel needles, the width of a hair, are inserted into acupuncture points, which have been shown to connect to meridians, made up of specialized connective tissue. These meridians conduct electro-magnetic energy into all areas of the body. The needles serve to enhance the flow at certain points, to bring the body’s systems (immune, circulatory, organs, emotions) into better balance, resulting in improved well-being, decreased pain, improved healing capacity, more energy and vitality, and resistance to disease.
