What
Exactly is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture refers to the insertion of extremely
fine needles* into certain specific sites on the
body in
order to treat pain and disease. In Chinese medicine,
it is believed that acupuncture regulates the
flow of qi (pronounced chee) or energy through the
body, thus establishing or re -establishing the body's
harmonious function. (*There is no pain associated
with acupuncture needles, I promise!)
Acupuncture
is one the fastest growing fields of medicine in
the United States, due in large
to
part to its long (very long) history of success in
Asia. With over 2,500 years of known practice, Acupuncture's
success is based on its clear and measurable effectiveness.
